Description
Radium Fuel Surge Tank Install Kit — Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
This comprehensive installation kit includes everything needed to install a Radium Engineering single-pump fuel surge tank (FST) in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Compatible with Walbro, AEM, Aeromotive, Deatschwerks, and Bosch equipped FSTs. Not designed for use with the Radium MPFST.
The kit locates the FST in a collision-safe area, centred behind the rear seat and in front of the plastic panelling in the boot — retaining 100% of useable boot space as the panel reinstalls after fitment. The powdercoated aluminium bracket secures to OEM mounting bosses with no drilling or cutting required. The OEM battery and windshield washer fluid bottle are fully retained and do not need to be relocated.
Four pre-assembled 6AN PTFE hoses are included, cut to length specifically for this application and integrated with the OEM fuel lines. PTFE hose is non-permeable, eliminating fuel vapour smell in the cabin, and is ideal for high alcohol content fuels including E85. Hose ends are anodized aluminium with an inner stainless steel braid covered in black PVC for abrasion and debris protection.
Wiring components include a weatherproof fuse and relay to drive the FST fuel pump. Assembly takes less than 30 minutes and requires no soldering.
Suits:
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X — single-pump FST installations
Kit Includes:
- 4x Pre-assembled 3/8" (6AN) PTFE hoses (cut to length)
- Powdercoated aluminium mounting bracket
- AN and OEM-style adapter fittings
- Stainless steel hardware
- Wiring components with relay and weatherproof fuse
- Installation instructions
Important Notes:
- Dual pump FST: This kit supports a single pump only. For dual-pump FSTs, a DIY wiring harness and additional PTFE hose to the fuel rail will be required — contact Radium for details.
- FST-R: If using a Radium FST-R, the plumbing in this kit is designed to reuse the OEM Mitsubishi FPR. One hose in the kit will not be used, and the OEM 1/4" rubber FPR return hose will need to be removed, drained, or plugged. The FPR vacuum hose will also need to be extended to the boot.
- OEM return port restriction: Due to the restrictive return port on the OEM fuel pump housing, slightly elevated static fuel pressure is normal when using a high-flow pump. The OEM housing return port can be enlarged to alleviate this restriction — refer to the instruction manual.
