Description
The Radium Engineering 20-0826-FL Dual Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit is a complete CCV and PCV oil catch can solution for the Honda Civic Type R (FK8 and FL5). Designed to intercept oil-saturated crankcase blow-by before it re-enters the intake stream, this dual kit protects the K20C1 turbocharged engine from performance-robbing oil contamination — essential on any performance-driven or track-used Type R.
Both catch cans mount using factory holes and integrate cleanly with the surrounding components. They are closed-loop designs — they do not vent to atmosphere (VTA), making them emissions compliant and track legal. Clean, filtered air is routed back through the engine to promote negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance, while preventing oil vapours from entering the cabin. The PCV and CCV catch cans function completely independently of each other and can be purchased individually or together as this dual kit.
No cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications to the vehicle are required.
PCV Catch Can
Runs inline on the PCV side. When intake manifold pressure is near or above atmospheric (under boost), the PCV check valve closes and this circuit experiences no flow. Under idle, steady-state cruise, and deceleration, the PCV hose experiences metered vacuum — conditions that would normally draw crankcase vapour, unspent fuel, and oil sludge directly into the intake manifold after a high-load run.
CCV Catch Can
Runs inline on the CCV side. At low loads this circuit sees atmospheric pressure, but under high load (WOT) it experiences vacuum — drawing crankcase vapours, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake system. On turbocharged applications like the K20C1, unaddressed CCV blow-by can accumulate in the intercooler, lowering thermal efficiency and degrading performance.
