Description
The HKS R Type intercooler kit for the Honda Civic Type R FL5 replaces the stock core and rubber boost piping with a larger aluminium assembly engineered for both road and circuit use. The core area increases by 22.4% over stock, providing sufficient cooling capacity for boosted-up and turbo-upgraded applications, while the enlarged aluminium piping eliminates pressure loss caused by hose expansion under high boost.

- Inner fin: triangular straight type to minimise airflow pressure loss
- Outer fin: triangular louver type for improved cooling efficiency
- Aluminium cast tanks with mirror buff finish; HKS logo on cast pipes and core
- Approximately 25% lighter than conventional intercooler designs
- Core designed to accept OEM piping; full kit replaces rubber hoses with aluminium pipes

Notes
- Intercooler assembly installation requires modifying the air guide inside the bumper and relocating the outside air temperature sensor; reinforcement modification is not required
- Piping installation requires shaving a bracket on the vehicle body
- Full kit installation requires both modifications above
- JDM product: any HKS certification applies to the Japanese market. Check your state's regulations before road use in Australia.
