Plug-and-Play Ethanol Content Solution for BRZ/86

Revzone now offers the Zeitronix ECA-2 Kit with the new Flow Through Flex Fuel Sensor. This kit includes the Ethanol Content Analyser (ECA-2), Flow Through Flex Fuel Sensor, and an ECA harness with the correct connector for a true plug-and-play install to suit Subaru BRZ / Toyota 86.

Fitment Note: Some BRZ models have a black O2 sensor plug with two locating tabs instead of one. In these cases, the single tab on the ECA cable must be carefully shaved off.

Why monitor ethanol percentage?

The ethanol content of E85 can vary from about 60% to 92%. Every fill can change the blend in your tank. Knowing the actual ethanol percentage lets tuners optimise ignition timing and fueling to safely extract more power. E85 typically provides an effective octane of around 105 or higher, improving knock resistance and allowing more aggressive tunes compared to standard petrol.

The result: The Zeitronix ECA-2 delivers real-time ethanol percentage and fuel temperature data so you can get the most from your engine and tune.

Installation and mounting

• Typical mounting location for the sensor is the return fuel line. Ensure the sensor is completely filled with fuel.
• Sensor tube sizes: 0.37 in for both tubes, 0.5 in at the flange.
• Professional installation by a workshop familiar with your vehicle and fuel system is required. Always check for fuel leaks.

ECA-2 analogue outputs

The flex fuel sensor itself does not provide 0–5 V outputs. The ECA-2 converts sensor data and provides two channels:

• Analog Output — Signal — Range
• Ethanol Percentage — 0–5 V — 0% to 100%
• Fuel Temperature — 0–5 V — -40 to 125 °C (-40 to 257 °F)
