Description
The Radium Engineering 20-0825-FL CCV Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit is a purpose-built crankcase ventilation solution for the Honda Civic Type R (FK8 and FL5). Running inline on the CCV side, this kit intercepts oil-saturated crankcase blow-by before it re-enters the intake stream — protecting the K20C1 turbocharged engine from oil contamination in the intercooler, intake pipe, and throttle body.
The kit mounts using factory holes and integrates cleanly with the surrounding components. It is a closed-loop design — it does not vent to atmosphere (VTA), making it emissions compliant and track legal. Clean, filtered air is routed back through the engine to promote negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance, while preventing oil vapours from entering the cabin.
This CCV kit functions completely independently of the PCV side and can be used on its own or paired with the Radium 20-0826-FL Dual Kit for complete crankcase ventilation coverage. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications to the vehicle are required.
CCV Circuit
At low loads, the CCV circuit sees atmospheric pressure. Under high load (WOT), it experiences vacuum — drawing crankcase vapours, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake system. On turbocharged applications like the K20C1, unaddressed CCV blow-by accumulates in the intercooler, lowering thermal efficiency and degrading performance over time. The Radium catch can captures these contaminants before they reach the intake.
