The Process West Khanacooler is a straight-fit intercooler for the VA WRX. It takes the technology from our world-leading Verticooler system and integrates it into a conventional top-mount setup for ease of fitment and a factory-style appearance, making it a great first step into Subaru modification.

For those who value a clean engine bay, the Khanacooler works with the factory duct, so there is no need to add any unsightly parts to keep the whole system running clean and cool.

Testing.

Rather than gather a single set of data, we used a two-pronged testing approach. First was a latest-spec AIM data logging system, used to compare the Khanacooler to the stock piece under real-world conditions, from heat soak when stationary through to wind-load on high-speed runs. In every test the Khanacooler showed significant, measurable improvements over stock.

Dyno.

On a Mainline chassis dyno, the first test was cold runs between the Khanacooler and stock to show the gains from reduced boost restriction alone. After three back-to-back pulls, the factory intercooler outlet temperature topped out at 57 degrees Celsius. With the Khanacooler installed, the same test returned 30 degrees Celsius, a 27 degree improvement, or a 48% cooling improvement, along with a substantial power gain.

Combining the temperature drop and pressure drop, the Khanacooler is comfortably a 50% upgrade over the factory unit.
