Description
The HKS Oil Cooler Kit for the Honda Civic Type R FK8 is a bolt-on air-cooled oil cooling system designed for the K20C engine. During circuit driving, the stock water-cooled oil cooler struggles to shed heat fast enough, causing both oil and water temperatures to spike and trigger fail-safe mode. This kit adds a dedicated air-cooled circuit that suppresses oil temperature rise and, by reducing heat load on the coolant, also helps stabilise water temperature.
Features
- 48 mm wide, 9-row oil cooler core with a dedicated air duct, mounted inside the inner fender to maximise airflow and cooling efficiency.
- Stainless mesh high-pressure oil hose includes a pulsation insulator to dampen pump noise that would otherwise transmit into the cabin.
- Thermostat built into the attachment prevents overcooling during warm-up and low-speed running.
- Includes a special aluminium air guide to direct airflow through the core.
- Vehicle modification is limited to the back of the bumper, inner fender, and brake duct; no major chassis alterations required.
