PORSCHE 991 GT3 RS EVENTURI INTAKE SYSTEM
Fitment: 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 RS
The Porsche GT3 RS intake has been designed to offer a more efficient flow path to the engine in comparison to the OEM airbox. Utilising our Patented Venturi Housing concept, airflow can negotiate through the filters with a much less tortuous path thus reducing the drag of the system.
Furthermore, by increasing the overall volume in the intake, the maximum flow capacity has also been increased. Using bespoke filters with an outer diameter of 192mm or 7.5″ boasting a filtration surface area of over 110,000mm^2 each, we have made maximum use of the available space. Intake air temperatures have also been minimised by ensuring a sealed system and using carbon fibre which has a low thermal conductivity coefficient across the wall thickness. The resulting system provides genuine performance gains and a noticeable improvement in throttle response.
The Eventuri Difference
The 991 GT3 RS Eventuri system uses our Patented Carbon fibre Housings which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the engine. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design that invokes the Venturi effect. You can read more about the housing design and how it works HERE
Flow Bench Testing
We conducted flow rate tests using a Superflow SF-1020 to measure the maximum flow rate possible at a pressure drop of 28” H2O. Tests were done on the same day in controlled conditions using the same test jig for each system. We tested our full intake system against the stock airbox system. The results show an increase in maximum flow by an additional 120 CFM over the OEM airbox. Importantly this has been achieved with a sealed intake system so the intake temperatures will also be maintained at a minimum.
Dyno Testing
Our RS3 Intake has been independently tested by ES Motors who build high powered Porsches in the UK. Tests were done on the same day back to back using a chassis dyno. As can be seen, there is a measurable gain throughout the RPM range, not just at peak which is more important as the increased area under the graph demonstrates that the intake is making an impact beyond the headline figures. This gain even on a stock car is noticeable on the road with better throttle response and quicker acceleration. The first graph is the summary of results and the second is a screenshot of the dyno test to show the gain in the mid-range.
Part Numbers:
The Eventuri 991 GT3 RS intake system consists of several components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fibre with no fibreglass which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:
Each intake system consists of:
PATENTED FILTER HOUSING
The 991 GT3 RS Filter Housing comprises 2 bespoke high flow filters, aluminium cowls, laser cut brackets and the carbon pod itself. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse mounted filters and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the throttle body. This smooth reduction in cross-sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. Further details can be read on the Technology page.
BESPOKE CONE FILTER
To achieve the highest flow rate possible, we designed a filter element to make as much use of the space available in the engine bay as possible. This new filter has an outside diameter of 192mm or 7.6" and when flow tested with housing using a 4" opening can flow up to 900 CFM at 28" H2O. The filter medium is ISO tested to ensure that filtration is in line with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our signature flow cones to aid in the Venturi housing principle.
CARBON DUCTS
The ducts channels ambient air from the side vents to the filter housing. To ensure a good seal against engine bay heat - they are secured to the filter housing at 3 points and use a neoprene gasket for an airtight seal. The ducts were designed to have the maximum internal volume possible within the given geometry of the engine bay. This ensures that the filter housing can draw with minimum restriction.
SILICON COUPLER
Our silicon coupler replaces the stock flexible tube to the throttle body. It matches the OEM throttle body with an internal step to ensure smooth flow.
The complete system comes together to provide an intake that improves on the stock airbox in performance, aesthetics and sound.
