Greater gains are available on tuned FA24 engines: the higher the power output, the greater the gain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePerformance gains\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe in-house WRX ran a Process West Stage 2 intercooler, Process West air intake, Invidia turbo-back exhaust, Blouch 5056 bolt-on turbo, stock intake manifold and 98 fuel (US 93 spec).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWithout the manifold the car produced 246kW (331hp) at the wheels (a stock VB WRX makes 197whp on this dyno). With the Process West manifold fitted and the tune adjusted to the same boost pressure, it produced 275kW (368hp). That is a 12% improvement in total power with gains across the rev range, plus around 10% additional torque from roughly 2500rpm to 6500rpm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhy the TGV section is included\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe factory manifold is a one-piece design with a non-removable TGV system, so a standalone manifold was not possible without re-engineering it. Process West developed a complete billet manifold with a fully functional TGV section. It must be used with a front-mounted intercooler, as the new throttle body position is lower and closer to the firewall, making top-mount intercoolers incompatible.
